A Modern, Gatsby Inspired Wedding featuring a minimalist bias gown and flapper inspired danceable reception dress.
While at first glance the Gatsby inspired wedding and reception looks may not appear minimalist at all, the gown and reception dresses are actually body conscious, bias cut slip dresses. What makes a statement in this Gatsby inspired wedding shoot is the grand metallic embroidered, beaded and ombre dyed veil.
The Bride wears a body conscious bias cut mermaid slipdress in champagne toned hemp/silk satin with a studded, jeweled deco headpiece and long beaded, embroidered ombre dyed vintage sari veil. Accented with rhinestones and antique brass toned detailing, the headpiece fits close to the head, reminiscent of the preferred style of the Art Deco period of the 1920s.
The dance-friendly flapper inspired reception look is a short bias hemp/silk satin slipdress with a low slung belt of beaded lace accessorized with an ostrich plume accented beaded headband.
The lavish bouquet, designed by Delightful by Rochelle is absolutely spot on and reflects the bouquet style of Gatsby brides of the period. Her magic carries on to complete the extravagant floral display in the table centerpiece, boutonniere, cake, and cabanna reception decor.
Reminiscent of the secret speakeasy rooms of the time, the cabana is the perfect place for the couple and their guests to relax. The lush and lavish decor is filled with sequin curtains, abundant flora and fauna, and one of a kind vintage sari sequin embellished pillows from my own collection of home decor pillows.
The Deco inspired invitations and placecards are my first go at designing wedding invitations and placecards. The luxurious satin sheen cardstock comes from Mc Manus and Morgan in Los Angeles.
Gorgeous diamond earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings are by Julieri, and the deco inspired, chain embellished and studded t-strap shoes are by Mink Shoes.
