Finished Reclaimed Denim Shag Rug: 24" × 36"
Handmade from reclaimed denim, this richly textured shag rug transforms discarded material into a tactile, one-of-a-kind piece for the home.
Each rug is created by working strips of denim individually through an open-grid rug backing, gradually building a dense surface through repetition and handwork. Variations in wash, fading, fraying, and tone give every rug its own character.
The finished rug measures 24" × 36" and takes approximately five hours of handwork to complete. Each piece is handmade in Deborah Lindquist’s studio and available in Classic Blue Denim or Distressed Black Denim.
Because the denim is reclaimed, no two rugs will be exactly alike. Natural variations in color, texture, and wear are part of the design.
Designed With What Remains
Denim becomes more interesting as it ages. Faded areas, worn edges, different washes, and subtle variations in color create depth throughout the finished surface.
Rather than hiding those differences, this rug celebrates them—transforming material that might otherwise be discarded into something functional, tactile, and new.
